Public Safety

Uniforms and gear for police, fire, EMS and corrections. Duty wear, station wear, job shirts and outerwear, with the badge sewing, name tapes, patches and agency embroidery done here rather than sent out.

We work with departments, unions, academies and individual officers. Single replacement shirt or a full department reoutfit — both are normal orders.

Blue Line Crafts is a small Northeast Ohio shop. The thin blue line in our logo is not marketing.

What we do

Uniform decoration

The work that turns a blank duty shirt into a department shirt. Done in house, so a rush replacement does not sit in someone else's queue.

  • Badge sewing and badge tab placement
  • Name tapes and name strips
  • Shoulder patch application, both sleeves
  • Agency logo embroidery on polos, job shirts and outerwear
  • Rank, unit and specialty insignia
  • Reflective lettering on the back of jackets and duty shirts

Custom patches

Department, unit and commemorative patches made to your artwork. Embroidered, woven or PVC depending on how much detail the design carries.

  • Shoulder patches to your existing spec
  • Challenge coins and commemorative patches
  • Hook and loop backing for tactical gear
  • We can redraw an old patch from a photo if the original artwork is long gone

Off duty and department spirit wear

The shirts that are not part of the uniform. Fundraisers, academy classes, retirements, memorial runs, union events.

  • Tees, hoodies and quarter zips
  • Hats, beanies and knit caps
  • Memorial and fallen officer designs
  • Academy class and graduation apparel

Department online stores

A storefront for your department or union, so officers order and pay for their own gear directly. No order forms, no one collecting cash, no leftover boxes of the wrong size.

  • Approved items only — you decide what is in it
  • Officers pay at checkout, shipped or picked up
  • Runs on a set window or stays open year round
  • Useful for fundraisers with a payout back to the union

Brands we can source

Duty gear runs on manufacturer sizing and spec rather than a general apparel catalog, so this section is priced to order. Tell us the brand and style number and we will come back with pricing and a lead time.

Clicking a brand starts a quote with that name already filled in. Not seeing yours? We can source well beyond this list — ask.

Have a style number already?

Most departments do — it is in your uniform policy or on the label of the shirt you are replacing. Send the brand and number and we will quote it directly, including the decoration.

Send us the spec

Starting from scratch?

Tell us the role, the season and whether it has to meet a department standard. We will come back with two or three options at different price points rather than one take-it-or-leave-it number.

Talk it through

Two things worth knowing up front

Availability moves. Duty gear is not stocked the way blank apparel is, and manufacturer inventory on this line changes week to week. We confirm availability and a real lead time before anything is ordered — we will not take an order for something we cannot get.

Proof of profession may be required. Anything carrying a city, state or federal agency patch, badge or logo may need verification before we produce it — typically a quartermaster, uniform officer or union rep confirming the order is authorized. We take real pride in outfitting first responders, and that means making sure this equipment does not end up with someone impersonating one.

Off-duty and spirit wear carries no agency insignia and needs none of this. It is the badges, patches and department marks that get checked.

Not sure whether we can get something? Ask. If we cannot, we will say so rather than sitting on it.
