Washing & care
Follow these five and your design will outlast the shirt. Custom apparel is not fragile, but heat and softener are what shorten a print’s life.

Turn garment inside out.
The wash cycle rubs garments against each other. Inside out, that wear lands on the fabric instead of the design.

Machine wash cold.
Heat is what breaks down a print and fades color. Cold water is gentler on both, and on the garment itself.

No fabric softener or bleach.
Softener leaves a coating that works its way under the edges of a print. Bleach attacks the design and the color of the shirt.

Tumble dry low or hang to dry.
A hot dryer is harder on a design than the wash is. Low heat, or hang it and skip the dryer entirely.

Do not iron the design.
An iron directly on a print will melt it. Iron around it, or press from the inside with a cloth in between.
Embroidery
Same rules, with one addition: never pull a loose thread. Pulling distorts the stitching around it and the damage spreads. Snip it flush with scissors instead.
To stop it fraying again, pass a lighter flame quickly past the cut end — near it, not on it. Embroidery thread seals as it melts. Keep the flame moving and well away from the garment.
